Alessio Avezzano is a screenwriter, cinematographer, and director. He joined us in the Podcast Studio Glasgow to chat about the 10 years he spent in China making “viral” prank videos and shooting high-end commercials for major brands, but how the pandemic forced him and his young family to return to the isle of Arran. Using his experiences spending time on a Scottish island, he drafted a script for a sitcom pilot, which he pitched to the BBC. It loved it, and Isleanders was brought to life. The pilot is available to watch on BBC iPlayer and is highly recommended.
